Sunday the 27th of February 2011 will be an amazing event with Lions, Rotary, Freemasons, Sport Northland and the Northland Community Foundation all joining together to create the Northland Family Fun Day Out, which will help raise more funds for Project Promise.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Please this christmas, spend sometime with those who you care about, and remember that it is not the amount of money that is spent, or the size of the gift, it is that each one of us are able to spend time together, and remember that Christmas is about family.
So please drive carefully, and don't make alcohol the master of your life.
Both Lee and myself wish you all a safe and prosperous New Year.
Environmental Northland (the Parking Ticket People) in conjunction with the Whangarei District Council, are collecting toys again.
On the 25th November 2010, myself and Cr. Aaron Edwards made a submission against the removal of Mander Park and the Trees along Mander Park.
My Submission can be found at "Articles".
The Jack Richards Debate was completed on the 4th of November at the Whangarei South Rotary Club at the Afare restaurant.
The final debate was done on the topic of "That prizes in lotto and other New Zealand lotteries should be capped at $5 million". This topic created a interesting debate with Bream Bay College acting on the affirmative and Otamatea College acting for the negative.
On the 18th December at 7:30pm there will be a Comedy show in the Old Library. A comedy show with Gary McCormick and Invercargill mayor Tim Shadbolt. These two are visiting Whangarei and will put on a great show for the community and raising funds for Project Promise.
Absolutely amazing people all coming together to preform a Variety Concert to raise funds for the Old Library. There will also be an auction and refreshments.
The Friends Of the Old Library Society (Fools) has plans to bring the building back to its original form, and preserve the historic nature of the building.
Come along and enjoy your afternoon.
