Jack Richards Debate Final 4th November 2010

The Jack Richards Debate was completed on the 4th of November at the Whangarei South Rotary Club at the Afare restaurant.

The final debate was done on the topic of "That prizes in lotto and other New Zealand lotteries should be capped at $5 million".  This topic created a interesting debate with Bream Bay College acting on the affirmative and Otamatea College acting for the negative.

The debate was finally won by the Bream Bay College team (Alex Birchall, Kelly Gillingham and Abigail Watkins) who were acting for the afirmative.  The winner of the Ray McCullum Trophy, for best speaker for the night, went to James Finlay from the Otamatea College.

The Debate will be shown on Channel North later on in the month.
