Environmental Northland (the Parking Ticket People) in conjunction with the Whangarei District Council, are collecting toys again.

This is one of the really good things that I love about local businesses in Whangarei.  Here we have a Business that spends most of their time collecting money from us the public for the Council, and at this time of the year, they are promoting to the public if you spend too long in the city shopping, and you get a $10 parking ticket.  As long as we bring the parking ticket and a toy (valued at $10 or over) to the Whangarei District Council building, they will take the toy and parking ticket off your hands for Free.

Environmental Northland have been doing this the last 3 years, and every year they are extremely happy on the 23rd or 24th of December to hand all these toys to the Salvation Army.  Keith Thompson (Manager) says that his employees get a real kick about helping the community, especially when they are most of the time seen as the bad people.
