On the 25th November 2010, myself and Cr. Aaron Edwards made a submission against the removal of Mander Park and the Trees along Mander Park.

Due to the fact that there were only two submitters against the development, the Commissioner asked us each why it was only two out of 370 letters that went out.  I reply to question, by stating that many of the residence of Whangarei, feel that it is no point for them to turn up to a hearing especially when NZTA will do what they want to do anyway.

NZTA stated that this was not true, where I then replied when asking the people in the streets if they would be happy to see Mander Park Trees being removed from the Park, the answer was no-way.

NZTA also were not prepared to accept my submission as a technical expert as I was a submitter, this is also disappointing, as I used just the facts that NZTA provided in their submission.
